John 1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

ప్రారంభంలో వాక్కు ఉన్నాడు. ఆ వాక్కు దేవుడి దగ్గర ఉన్నాడు. ఆ వాక్కు దేవుడే.

The same was in the beginning with God.

ఆ వాక్కు ప్రారంభంలో దేవుడితో ఉన్నాడు.

All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

సృష్టి అంతా ఆ వాక్కు ద్వారానే కలిగింది. ఉనికిలో ఉన్న వాటిలో ఏదీ ఆయన లేకుండా కలగలేదు.

In him was life; and the life was the light of men.

ఆయనలో జీవం ఉంది. ఆ జీవం సమస్త మానవాళికీ వెలుగుగా ఉంది.

And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

ఆ వెలుగు చీకటిలో ప్రకాశిస్తున్నది. చీకటి ఆ వెలుగును లొంగదీసుకోలేక పోయింది.

The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.

అందరూ తన ద్వారా ఆ వెలుగును నమ్మడం కోసం అతడు ఆ వెలుగుకు సాక్షిగా ఉండడానికి వచ్చాడు.

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

ఈ యోహానే ఆ వెలుగు కాదు. కానీ ఆ వెలుగును గురించి సాక్ష్యం చెప్పడానికి వచ్చాడు.

That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.

లోకంలోకి వస్తున్న నిజమైన వెలుగు ఇదే. ఈ వెలుగు ప్రతి వ్యక్తినీ వెలిగిస్తూ ఉంది.

He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

లోకం అంతా ఆయన ద్వారానే కలిగింది. ఆయన లోకంలో ఉన్నాడు. అయినా లోకం ఆయనను తెలుసుకోలేదు.

He came unto his own, and his own received him not.

ఆయన తన సొంత ప్రజల దగ్గరికి వచ్చాడు. కానీ వారు ఆయనను స్వీకరించలేదు.

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

తనను ఎవరెవరు అంగీకరించారో, అంటే తన నామంలో నమ్మకం ఉంచారో, వారికందరికీ దేవుని పిల్లలు అయ్యే హక్కును ఆయన ఇచ్చాడు.

Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

వారంతా దేవుని వలన పుట్టినవారే గాని, వారి పుట్టుకకు రక్తమూ, శరీర వాంఛలూ, మనుషుల ఇష్టాలూ కారణం కానే కావు.

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

ఆ వాక్కు శరీరంతో మన మధ్య కృపా సత్యాల సంపూర్ణ స్వరూపంగా నివసించాడు. తండ్రి నుండి వచ్చిన ఏకైక కుమారునికి ఉండే మహిమలాగా ఉన్న ఆయన మహిమను మేము చూశాము.

And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace.

ఆయన సంపూర్ణతలో నుండి మనమందరం కృప తరువాత కృపను పొందాం.

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.

మోషే ద్వారా దేవుడు ధర్మశాస్త్రాన్ని ఇచ్చాడు. కృప, సత్యం యేసు క్రీస్తు మూలంగా కలిగాయి.

No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

దేవుణ్ణి ఇంతవరకూ ఎవరూ చూడలేదు. తండ్రిని అనునిత్యం హత్తుకుని ఉండే దేవుడైన ఏకైక కుమారుడే ఆయనను వెల్లడి చేశాడు.

And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, I am not the Christ.

అతడు, “నాకు తెలియదు” అనకుండా, “నేను క్రీస్తును కాదు” అంటూ ఒప్పుకున్నాడు.

And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No.

కాబట్టి వారు, “అయితే నువ్వు ఎవరివి? ఏలీయావా?” అంటే అతడు, “కాదు” అన్నాడు. “నువ్వు ప్రవక్తవా?” అని అడిగితే కాదని జవాబిచ్చాడు.

Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?

దాంతో వారు, “అయితే అసలు నువ్వు ఎవరివి? మమ్మల్ని పంపిన వారికి మేమేం చెప్పాలి? అసలు నీ గురించి నువ్వేం చెప్పుకుంటున్నావ్?” అన్నారు.

He said, I am the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias.

దానికి అతడు, “యెషయా ప్రవక్త పలికినట్టు నేను, ‘ప్రభువు కోసం దారి తిన్నగా చేయండి’ అని అరణ్యంలో బిగ్గరగా కేక పెట్టే ఒక వ్యక్తి స్వరాన్ని” అన్నాడు.

And they which were sent were of the Pharisees.

అలాగే అక్కడ పరిసయ్యులు పంపిన కొందరున్నారు.

And they asked him, and said unto him, Why baptizest thou then, if thou be not that Christ, nor Elias, neither that prophet?

వారు, “నువ్వు క్రీస్తువు కావు, ఏలీయావు కావు, ప్రవక్తవూ కావు. అలాంటప్పుడు మరి బాప్తిసం ఎందుకు ఇస్తున్నావు?” అని అడిగారు.

John answered them, saying, I baptize with water: but there standeth one among you, whom ye know not;

దానికి యోహాను, “నేను నీళ్లలో బాప్తిసం ఇస్తున్నాను. కాని మీ మధ్య మీరు గుర్తించని వ్యక్తి నిలిచి ఉన్నాడు.

He it is, who coming after me is preferred before me, whose shoe’s latchet I am not worthy to unloose.

నా వెనుక వస్తున్నది ఆయనే. నేను ఆయన చెప్పుల పట్టీ విప్పడానికి కూడా యోగ్యుణ్ణి కాదు” అని వారితో చెప్పాడు.

These things were done in Bethabara beyond Jordan, where John was baptizing.

ఈ విషయాలన్నీ యొర్దాను నదికి అవతల వైపు ఉన్న బేతనీలో జరిగాయి. ఇక్కడే యోహాను బాప్తిసం ఇస్తూ ఉండేవాడు.

This is he of whom I said, After me cometh a man which is preferred before me: for he was before me.

‘నా వెనక వచ్చేవాడు నాకు ముందే ఉన్నవాడు కాబట్టి ఆయన నాకంటే గొప్పవాడు’ అంటూ నేను ఎవరి గురించి చెప్పానో ఆయనే ఈయన.

And I knew him not: but that he should be made manifest to Israel, therefore am I come baptizing with water.

నేను ఆయనను గుర్తించలేదు, కానీ ఆయన ఇశ్రాయేలు ప్రజలకు వెల్లడి కావాలని నేను నీళ్ళలో బాప్తిసం ఇస్తూ వచ్చాను.”

And John bare record, saying, I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and it abode upon him.

యోహాను ఇంకా సాక్షమిస్తూ, “ఆత్మ ఒక పావురంలా ఆకాశం నుండి దిగి వచ్చి ఆయనపై నిలిచి పోవడం చూశాను.

And I knew him not: but he that sent me to baptize with water, the same said unto me, Upon whom thou shalt see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost.

నేను ఆయనను గుర్తు పట్టలేదు. కాని ‘ఎవరి మీద ఆత్మ దిగివచ్చి నిలిచిపోవడం చూస్తావో ఆయనే పరిశుద్ధాత్మలో బాప్తిసం ఇచ్చేవాడు’ అని నీళ్ళలో బాప్తిసం ఇవ్వడానికి నన్ను పంపినవాడు నాకు చెప్పాడు.

And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God.

ఈయనే దేవుని కుమారుడని నేను తెలుసుకున్నాను, సాక్షం ఇచ్చాను.”

And looking upon Jesus as he walked, he saith, Behold the Lamb of God!

అప్పుడు యేసు అక్కడ నడిచి వెళ్తుంటే యోహాను ఆయన వైపు చూసి, “ఇదిగో, చూడండి, దేవుని గొర్రెపిల్ల” అన్నాడు.

And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

అతడు చెప్పిన మాట విని ఆ యిద్దరు శిష్యులు యేసు వెనకే వెళ్ళారు.

Then Jesus turned, and saw them following, and saith unto them, What seek ye? They said unto him, Rabbi, (which is to say, being interpreted, Master,) where dwellest thou?

యేసు వెనక్కి తిరిగి, వారు తన వెనకాలే రావడం చూసి, “మీకేం కావాలి?” అని అడిగాడు. వారు, “రబ్బీ, (రబ్బీ అనే మాటకు బోధకుడు అని అర్థం) నువ్వు ఎక్కడ ఉంటున్నావ్?” అని అడిగారు.

He saith unto them, Come and see. They came and saw where he dwelt, and abode with him that day: for it was about the tenth hour.

ఆయన, “వచ్చి చూడండి” అన్నాడు. వారు వచ్చి ఆయన ఉంటున్న స్థలం చూశారు. అప్పటికి సాయంత్రం నాలుగు గంటలైంది. దాంతో వారు ఆ రోజుకి ఆయనతో ఉండిపోయారు.

One of the two which heard John speak, and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.

యోహాను మాట విని ఆయన వెనకాల వెళ్ళిన ఇద్దరిలో ఒకరు అంద్రెయ. ఇతడు సీమోను పేతురు సోదరుడు.

He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, We have found the Messias, which is, being interpreted, the Christ.

ఇతడు అన్నిటికంటే ముందు తన సోదరుడైన సీమోనును వెతికి పట్టుకుని, అతనితో, “మేము మెస్సీయను (మెస్సీయ అంటే క్రీస్తు అని అర్థం) కనుక్కున్నాం” అని చెప్పాడు.

And he brought him to Jesus. And when Jesus beheld him, he said, Thou art Simon the son of Jona: thou shalt be called Cephas, which is by interpretation, A stone.

యేసు దగ్గరికి అతణ్ణి తీసుకుని వచ్చాడు. యేసు అతణ్ణి చూసి, “నువ్వు యోహాను కొడుకువి, నీ పేరు సీమోను. నిన్ను ఇక కేఫా అని పిలుస్తారు” అన్నాడు (కేఫా అనే మాటకి పేతురు (రాయి) అని అర్థం).

Now Philip was of Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

ఫిలిప్పు సొంత ఊరు బేత్సయిదా. అంద్రెయ, పేతురుల సొంత ఊరు కూడా అదే.

Philip findeth Nathanael, and saith unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.

ఫిలిప్పు నతనయేలును చూసి, “ధర్మశాస్త్రంలో మోషే, ప్రవక్తలూ ఎవరి గురించి రాశారో ఆ వ్యక్తిని మేము చూశాం. ఆయన నజరేతు వాడూ, యోసేపు కుమారుడూ అయిన యేసు” అని చెప్పాడు.

And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.

దానికి నతనయేలు, “నజరేతులో నుండి మంచిదేమన్నా రాగలదా?” అన్నాడు. ఫిలిప్పు, “నువ్వే వచ్చి చూడు” అన్నాడు.

Jesus saw Nathanael coming to him, and saith of him, Behold an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!

నతనయేలు తన దగ్గరికి రావడం యేసు చూసి, “చూడండి. ఇతడు నిజమైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయుడు. ఇతనిలో ఎలాంటి కపటమూ లేదు” అన్నాడు.

Nathanael saith unto him, Whence knowest thou me? Jesus answered and said unto him, Before that Philip called thee, when thou wast under the fig tree, I saw thee.

అప్పుడు నతనయేలు, “నేను నీకెలా తెలుసు?” అన్నాడు. అందుకు యేసు, “ఫిలిప్పు నిన్ను పిలవక ముందు ఆ అంజూరపు చెట్టు కింద ఉన్నప్పుడే నేను నిన్ను చూశాను” అన్నాడు.

Nathanael answered and saith unto him, Rabbi, thou art the Son of God; thou art the King of Israel.

దానికి నతనయేలు, “బోధకా, నువ్వు దేవుని కుమారుడివి! ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజువి నువ్వే” అని ఆయనకు బదులిచ్చాడు.

Jesus answered and said unto him, Because I said unto thee, I saw thee under the fig tree, believest thou? thou shalt see greater things than these.

అందుకు యేసు, “ఆ అంజూరు చెట్టు కింద నిన్ను చూశానని చెప్పినందుకే నువ్వు నమ్మేస్తున్నావా? దీని కంటే గొప్ప విషయాలు చూస్తావు” అన్నాడు.

And he saith unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Hereafter ye shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of man.

తరువాత యేసు ఇలా అన్నాడు, “నేను కచ్చితంగా చెప్పేదేమంటే, ఆకాశం తెరుచుకోవడం, దేవుని దూతలు మనుష్య కుమారుడి మీదుగా ఎక్కడం, దిగడం చేస్తూ ఉండడం మీరు చూస్తారు.”
