1 Chronicles 14

Now Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and timber of cedars, with masons and carpenters, to build him an house.

తూరు రాజు హీరాము దావీదు దగ్గరికి మనుషులను పంపాడు. దేవదారు మానులను, వడ్రంగి వాళ్ళను, తాపీ పనివారిని పంపాడు. వారు అతనికి ఒక ఇల్లు కట్టారు.

And David perceived that the LORD had confirmed him king over Israel, for his kingdom was lifted up on high, because of his people Israel.

తన ప్రజలైన ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల కోసం యెహోవా అతని రాజ్యాన్ని ఉన్నత స్థితికి తెచ్చాడనీ, ఆయన తనను ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల మీద రాజుగా స్థిరపరిచాడనీ దావీదు గ్రహించాడు.

Now these are the names of his children which he had in Jerusalem; Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

యెరూషలేములో అతనికి పుట్టిన కొడుకుల పేర్లు, షమ్మూయ, షోబాబు, నాతాను, సొలొమోను,

And Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpalet,

ఇభారు, ఏలీషూవ, ఎల్పాలెటు,

And Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

నోగహు, నెపెగు, యాఫీయ,

And Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphalet.

ఎలీషామా, బెయెల్యెదా, ఎలీపేలెటు.

And the Philistines came and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

ఫిలిష్తీయులు వచ్చి రెఫాయీముల లోయలో ఉన్న ప్రజల మీద దాడి చేశారు.

And David enquired of God, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? and wilt thou deliver them into mine hand? And the LORD said unto him, Go up; for I will deliver them into thine hand.

“ఫిలిష్తీయుల మీద నేను దాడి చేస్తే నువ్వు వాళ్ళ మీద నాకు జయం ఇస్తావా?” అని దావీదు దేవుణ్ణి అడిగాడు. యెహోవా “వెళ్ళు, నేను వాళ్ళను నీకు అప్పగిస్తాను” అన్నాడు.

So they came up to Baal-perazim; and David smote them there. Then David said, God hath broken in upon mine enemies by mine hand like the breaking forth of waters: therefore they called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

వాళ్ళు బయల్పెరాజీముకు వచ్చినప్పుడు దావీదు అక్కడ వాళ్ళను హతం చేసి “ఉధృతమైన వరద ప్రవాహపు తాకిడిలా దేవుడు నాచేత నా శత్రువులను నాశనం చేయించాడు” అన్నాడు. దాన్నిబట్టి ఆ స్థలానికి బయల్పెరాజీము అనే పేరు వచ్చింది.

And when they had left their gods there, David gave a commandment, and they were burned with fire.

ఫిలిష్తీయులు తమ దేవుళ్ళను అక్కడే విడిచి పారిపోయారు. వాటన్నిటినీ తగలబెట్టమని దావీదు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చాడు.

And the Philistines yet again spread themselves abroad in the valley.

ఫిలిష్తీయులు మరొకసారి ఆ లోయ మీదికి దాడి చేశారు.

Therefore David enquired again of God; and God said unto him, Go not up after them; turn away from them, and come upon them over against the mulberry trees.

దావీదు మళ్ళీ దేవుని దగ్గర మనవి చేశాడు. అందుకు దేవుడు “నువ్వు ముందు నుంచి కాకుండా, వెనుక నుంచి వాళ్ళ చుట్టూ తిరిగి వెళ్లి, కంబళిచెట్లకు ఎదురుగా ఉండు.

And it shall be, when thou shalt hear a sound of going in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then thou shalt go out to battle: for God is gone forth before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.

కంబళి చెట్ల చిటారు కొమ్మల్లో కాళ్ళ చప్పుడు నీకు వినిపించగానే బయలుదేరి వాళ్ళ మీద దాడి చెయ్యి. ఆ చప్పుడు వినిపించినప్పుడు ఫిలిష్తీయుల సేనను హతం చెయ్యడానికి దేవుడు నీకు ముందుగా బయలుదేరి వెళ్ళాడని తెలుసుకో” అని చెప్పాడు.

David therefore did as God commanded him: and they smote the host of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gazer.

దేవుడు తనకు చెప్పినట్టే దావీదు చేశాడు. ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు ఫిలిష్తీయుల సైన్యాన్ని గిబియోను మొదలుకుని గెజెరు వరకూ తరిమి హతం చేశారు.

And the fame of David went out into all lands; and the LORD brought the fear of him upon all nations.

కాబట్టి దావీదు కీర్తి ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల ప్రాంతాలన్నిట్లో ప్రసిద్ధి అయింది. యెహోవా అన్యజనులందరికీ అతడంటే భయం కలిగించాడు.
